Caroline has just heard the fantastic news that she has satisfied the AHPRA Board and is now fully registered as a Psychologist. She will now be able to offer a more comprehensive service to our community. Call Vanessa our QLDC Clinic Manager for an appointment with Caroline.

Hazel is a Creative Arts Therapist (MIECAT M.A.) and community arts facilitator with over twenty years experience working multi modally across various settings. Her work has spanned a range of applications including facilitating a highly successful art and drama programs in the Adult Disability field (for which she received the David Helfgott Award in 2006); running several therapeutic projects for bush fire affected primary school children in regional Victoria (in response to the Black Fires of 2009) as well as tailoring a range of therapeutic projects and programs for disabled adults, the aged, youth at risk and for a drug and alcohol rehabilitation service. Hazels’ therapeutic approach is attuned to the specific needs of the individuals and groups worked with, bringing her deeply experiential knowing that art making supports inquiry into meaning, and is a safe dynamic place for expression and transformation.

Evie Jagger is an accredited Psychotherapist who has had extensive training in the UK as well as experience in the Bahamas. Evie is available at our new clinic location: Queensland Learning and Development Clinic, Suite 2, 22 Vanessa Boulevard, Springwood every Thursday from 6th March 2014. As well as individual therapy sessions Evie is available for professional development sessions related to trauma and attachment difficulties and how to accommodate them in the classroom or home. Additionally Evie is trained to deliver the B.A.S.E. ® research based program with groups of children and adolescents which has been proven to reduce aggression and increase empathy. Cleo Mayr has agreed to be our Resource Manager. She has a tough task with 28 years of accumulated resources to organise plus those belonging to new staff. However, she has excellent organisational skills and is passionate about the work we do and is keen to learn all about the assessments we use so that she can put it to good use as she applies for courses at TAFE. Caroline Aazami came to Australia with her PhD in Psychology but wanted to practice as a Psychologist so she has just completed her Masters in Applied Psychology (Counselling) and is waiting for approval to move from Provisional to Full Registration. In the meantime she will be working as our Research Psychologist writing grant applications so that we can assist the most vulnerable children access our services free or at a much reduced cost.
