How do I organise professional supervision for myself or an employee?

If you are interested in arranging supervision for yourself or another member of your organisation, please call us on 1300367664 or fill out our online form and we’ll contact you.

Some workplaces pay for an employee’s professional supervision. Contact your HR department, work supervisor or manager to discuss support option from your organisation.

If you pay for your own supervision you may be able to claim the cost as a work-related expense when you lodge your annual income tax return.

Options to attend supervision

In person

You can make an appointment to see one of our professional supervisors in person at our offices located in West End, Brisbane or Newtown, Sydney.

Online Supervision via Go To Meeting

If you can’t make it into our office due to time or distance constraints, we also offer supervision online using Go To Meeting to conduct a live video call.

This method of supervision is similar to what you experience in an office-based session and is just as effective.

  1. Hi
I will be graduating soon from my Honours in Psychology. I am having trouble finding a supervisor and as I may be working in a rural/remote location, I am hoping to be able to Skype.
Can you please give me an idea of how much you charge for your services. I would be working full-time for a Govt. department that doesn’t provide supervision. I would be working 35 hours a week, so I imagine that means 4x long fortnightly sessions. I will be a 4+2 Intern.
Can you provide any details on the likelihood of being able to claim supervision costs back as a workplace exspense?
    Kind regards,
    Suzie

    • Suzie » Dear Suzie,
      Thank you for your enquiry.
I would imagine that your accountant could claim back supervision as part of your training requirements.
I charge $90 per hour for long term supervision but I am only offering this to postgraduates at the moment as I have found the 4 + 2 process too stressful for supervisees as AHPRA are extremely slow with feedback.
I have a colleague called Charmaine Daly on the Sunshine Coast who may help you.
      Good Luck

      Debra

  2. Hello,

One of my colleagues at Sunnybank Private Hospital was recently in communication with Jacqueline Murray and has directed me to your organisation regarding your offering of psychology internships.

I have recently graduated from a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours(2A), and am extremely interested in finding a position that will enable me to apply for my provisional registration and begin supervised practice. I have a particular interest in Mindfulness based practices and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and how they can be applied to depression and anxiety in both children and adults.

My present position is that of Anaesthetic Technician in the operating theatre; a position I have held in numerous facilities in both adult and children’s hospitals for over 14 years.

I was unable to find a way to upload my C.V., but would be more than happy to provide it to you should you wish.

I thank you for your time, and look forward to hearing from you.

    Yours sincerely, Karen Arnold.
